A few days ago, we talked about Feedback.

We showed you why it’s vital to your digital marketing, and why it’d be ridiculous to think you could do without it.

Today, as promised, we’re diving into how you can use feedback to your advantage. A lot of people know feedback is important, but they barely scratch the surface when it comes to obtaining feedback. Especially when they’re operating on more than one platform.

Without further ado, let’s make sure you’re not one of them.

1. Social Media.

Getting feedback on social media is pretty much the fastest, easiest, and the most immediate means of using feedback to your advantage.

Strike up a conversation on all your posts and let your audience speak their minds. If anyone in your audience is shy, you can always DM them for their personal opinion.

If you have a larger audience, you can post polls and create group chats on platforms like WhatsApp, Discord and Telegram.

Remember that in the world of online marketing, the customer is King. While some of them may have rude remarks, it’s important that you don’t get emotional about it.

Think about it. Are you really going to use your God-given time and energy to start a Twitter beef with a customer?

2. Websites

While putting up polls on social media is cool, doing the same on your website is an underrated technique to get some honest feedback.

Putting up a space where your customers can put up their own honest reviews and rate your website and products.

You might think it’s not important, but remember that there’s an app you didn’t download because it had 2 stars on the App Store.

Imagine how different things would’ve been if that app had an internal system for taking in reviews instead.

3. Emails:

If we’re really talking about underrated techniques, emails are the most powerful feedback loop.

With an email, it’s just you and your customers, so you don’t have to worry about bad reviews chasing away prospective customers like the App Store.

Plus, it’s a great platform for farming your audience. You can share secrets, tips, and things to expect from your products, and get how your audience feels about all of it.

Emails create an illusion of personal perspective that sounds like you’re having a conversation with a friend. And that’s hard to replicate on most other social media platforms.

Emails are personal, and that’s why they make for an amazing platform, especially for feedback. If you’re a digital marketer, consider kicking off email marketing, just so you have a platform for more personal feedback.

4. Analysing Analytics.

There’s a bunch of tools out there that give you comprehensive data in real-time about your audience’s behaviour.

You can even track which posts and which ads are doing better, so you know the types of ads that appeal to your audience. You can use tools like SurveyMonkey to conduct and track surveys, too.

Since analytics are a more digital firm of feedback, we won’t go too deep into them. Several platforms have easy-to-use in-built tools to track audience engagement, feedback, and behaviour. You’re free to do with that information as you please.

5. Community.

Having an online community where your customers can meet and discuss is a great way to get some feedback going.

And while we’ve mentioned it before, it’s worth repeating: Creating group chats for your customers on platforms like WhatsApp, Telegram, and Discord is a great way to foster a community and get some great feedback going.

So there you have it. Five ways you can use the power of feedback to your advantage, especially if you’re a digital marketer.

For our next article, we’re thinking about diving into the nuances of Google Ads. It’s a bit of a tricky aspect, so if you want us to go ahead with it, let us know in the comments below!

But for now, have a great week and a relaxing weekend.
